The Little Turkle

Set on a barrier island off the Atlantic Coast, The Little Turkle is a tale about the hatching of a baby sea turtle, or "turkle" as people say in Down East Carteret County, North Carolina.

After this little "turkle" hatches, he struggles to make his way from his nest in the warm beach sand to the cool, foaming waters of the Atlantic Ocean. On his journey, trouble lies ahead, but help arrive when Little Turkle needs it most.
